Can You Really Get As Good A Workout From A Workout Tape That You Can With A Personal Trainer?

I don’t think so, and here’s why, but before I start, let me tell you that there are some excellent work out tapes out there on the market. I happen to like P90X. Actually, I’ve watched and inspired by fitness expert Tony Horton’s workout exercise series.

Any trainer that is in tune to the needs and abilities of his clients should be administering as effective of a workout program when possible, but here’s the problem: Having a program like P90X, even though it’s a DVD you can put in at home, does not take away two of the biggest barriers for someone to get in shape, which are accountability and expert guidance.

For that, a personal trainer is really the best way to go. For my clients that know me well they know that I’m a very late riser. I stay awake up until all hours of the night and when I do get bored, I do flip the channels and for some reason I’m attracted to the infomercials, but these infomercials, which have a new one coming out every few days, do not seem to be making a dent in the nation’s obesity epidemic. What we really need is more leaders educating the public on fitness and that’s where a personal training program like ours comes in, so if you are using the program and it is getting you results, more power to you, I’m very happy for you.

In general having a DVD demonstrating the workouts for you or getting a book from the book store that does essentially same thing doesn’t get over the accountability and the expert guiding factors. When you’re looking to make a major transformation with your body, those are really the two most important factors in the whole equation.
